Just Shoot me!
April 29, 2007
I saw this picture on the web last night and at first i though wow!!! what a great success story…

…but then I read the fine print…this is not depicting weight loss but weight gain! she went from the first picture to the second picture in 3 years…Oh MY GOD. Talk about motivation…there is no way I want to be moving in the opposite direction. For some reason this picture saddens me if I had a body like that one there is NO way I would let myself go to become like the second pic…or would I?
This is my quandary. Will I ever be OK with myself and my body or will true contentment prove illusive even once I have reached my goal! Will I have the motivation to, not only, loose the weight but to keep it off! The work doesn’t stop once you reach your goal and sometimes I wonder if I will have the stick-ability to keep it off.
I haven’t always been big…infact I was quite slim at around 19years here is a picture to demonstrate:

But depression and bad relationships hit and I went from that to THIS:

It has happened before….please just shoot me before it happens AGAIN!

I know it has been awhile…I have been laying low for awhile due to some personal issues…my boy has gone for his first visit to his dad for 5 days…and I think it has been harder for me to let him go then for him…anyway on a serious note I got sent this tonight and I thought it was very appropriate for my mood at present so I wanted to share it.
Update 6 May 2007: The music constantly playing was driving me crazy so I have moved it HERE…so as not to disturb the peace.hehehe Enjoy!

Minding My Own Business

I knew it was time to go shopping, but I didn’t want to pay pay full price for clothing that will only fit for a month or so as I continued on my quest to my ultimate dress size.
This got me thinking…if that was my dilemma, chances are it is other dieter’s dilemma as well. So I then started wondering, how one could provide a service to fill that need. It was then the concept of SizeXchange started unravelling and since then it has evolved into something much bigger…however, the basic idea is that it is a clothes swap auction…working similar to ‘feebay’ (hehehe!) but instead of auctioning for money the clothes are actually auctioned for points. The more of your larger clothes you put up for auction that are successfully exchanged the more points you accrue which you can use to bid on items in the size that you need when you need it. Simple really really but quite complex when you are in the position I and my web-developers are in trying to customise the programming to work that way. I had hoped that we would be up and running closer to the beginning of the year but now it is looking like we could be waiting a bit longer…The response I have received to this concept even before we have launched has been exciting and quite overwhelming…who would have thought that dieters are virtually crying out for such a service.
I’ll let you in on a secret though…If you sign up for our pre-launch newsletter you will be not only one of the first to know when we are approaching launch but all our newsletter subscribers will get access to a 60-day free period to try the service out for themselves.
Anyhow, enough plugging for today.
