Awhile ago I did a guest FlabVlog for my mate Steph from Back in Skinny Jeans. In this guest post I talk about the importance of non-scale-victories when you are dieting. I know you have heard me say it before…”Its not ALL about the scales”… and Proudly, I am already living my own back in skinny jeans dream. In this guest post I explain why.
Anyhow, I thought it would be good to post it here too…so
Hi guys, since my last post I have been having some serious discussions with Stephanie from Back in Skinny Jeans about the prevalence of fat discrimination both blatant and subtle. Whether it is coming at you from the direction of well-meaning family and/or friends, from the workplace, or the retail shop where you are purchasing that new outfit. Fat Discrimination is alive and well. As fat people we can’t get away from it…as long as we are fat, people will always have their preconceived ideas of WHO we are simply based on WHAT we are.
With this in mind, in this Flabvlog, I also discuss the importance of watching how us dieters relate to, encourage, and challenge each other There is a fine line between constructive interrelations and destructive ones. So watch above and please comment I would love to hear your views or own personal experiences of fat discrimination.
What is the secret to my renewed sense of life, confidence, excitement. Well…I have a secret and it has something to do with…Well you will just have to watch and see. This is the first in a series of episodes where I will introduce you to the new MAN in my life…yes you heard me…I have a incy wincy little crush on a gorgeous guy…still early days and we’ll see how we go. I am taking it really, really slow. We are just in the ‘getting to know you’ stage…I will tell you more in the NEXT episode…but for now the words of Debbie Boone pretty much sum up what I am feeling. “You, light up my life!”
Not having to always search for two seats together when riding a bus!
As I have mentioned, I am in the process of getting all the cartoons together for my book. My caricaturist Eric Jones is soooo talented. I tell him exactly what I want in the cartoons and he churns them out pretty much exactly as I had envisioned…often with 2 or three amendments of course…lol! I never imagined I would hear myself telling anyone…’Make me FATTER! I look too slim’ Usually when someone is drawing you or taking photo’s we are after the most flattering angles/lighting instead of making us look MORE like beached whales.
Its hard for him, I know, cause he is working off pictures of me NOW. When I am really after representations of what I was at 354lbs when it was ALL happening BABY!
I thought I’d share this one cause its one of my favorites. And yes, FYI the cartoons are based on real life experiences…fortunately, I never saw the old lady on that bus route ever again…I wonder why?
Awhile ago I promised to talk about and show you my ‘sexy’ outfit…you know the kind that makes you want to strut your stuff and wiggle your behind whenever you are wearing it. Well, here it is I had ALOT of fun with my camera last night…was actually up to 3am putting this FlabVlog together so my voice is a bit crackly and hoarse but aside from this it was alot of fun!
Remember guys…the sexy outfit is not about what it is, what style, what colour, what brand, or how tight, the sexy outfit is about ‘how it makes you feel! Throw away those sweatpants and sloppy joes that make you feel like you just want to become a couch potato and eat potato crisps…Its time to change the way we FEEL by changing the way we DRESS!
As you can see Finding Flabuless is going through a major revamp…please bear with me over the next couple days as I fix up broken links and transfer the rest of my site..including reciprocal links and blogroll lists over to the new site…I promise there will be exciting things ahead..just you wait and see what I have planned.
